Scandmed Single and Double Electronic Tourniquets
The Scandmed family of tourniquets consists of 4 electronic and 2 pneumatic tourniquets with new types of washable autoclavable cuffs.

The Scandmed electronic tourniquets are equipped with a nickel-metal-hydrid NiMH back up battery in the event of a power outage within the hospital or for a planned procedure with battery power only.

The new Scandmed tourniquets 400-20and 400-40 are designed to work as an electric tourniquet with the feature of a Nickel-metal-hydrid NiMH back up battery. The battery will enable the user to work on battery only for a minimum of two hours with the single unit and one hour with the double unit. Many hospitals work at all times with the tourniquet connected to the mains with the power cord and the new tourniquets are specially designed to meet this demand.
Apart from the new modern design in aluminium and polished stainless steel the new units are faster to inflate and deflate, they have new more distinct touch buttons, clearer display, a special IVRA button on the double unit to facilitate IVRA (Bier´s Block) procedures, nickel.metal-hydrid batteries, less weight, smaller size and are equipped with a new computer program with many built-in safety features.
· Scandmed now offers four electronic tourniquets, the well known 200-20 and 200-40 for mainly battery powered procedures and now also the two new models 400-20 and 400-40 for procedures which in most cases are performed with help of the power cord attached to the mains. However, the back-up batteries make it possible for the surgeon to work during a power outage or for a transportation of a patient with the cuff(s) inflated for at least one hour.
